How This All Began

Late summer of 2009, my son approached me about starting a fantasy baseball league.  My wife and I, not heavy media consumption people, discussed it and decided it was an okay idea, but we needed to know more about fantasy sports.  I have a friend I knew was into it, so I asked  him.

He recommended we stick with ESPN, and start with football, because, unlike baseball,   you only have to update your team once a week.  My son set up a league, got some friends involved, and now it is 2010, and we are into year two of the fantasy football league. We are also wrapping up year one of the baseball league that my son's friend set up.

My son talks about fantasy sports a lot.  A lot.  And he could use an audience, and people to share his passion and knowledge with.  I hope this blog will help him do that.  And it will provide a venue to discuss the weekly struggle for fantasy sports domination between my oldest son and me (along with my ds2 who is a silent partner in this endeavor).  Except that at times I might as well be a silent partner as well with the level of success I have attained.
I will provide more on that later.  My ds1 needs to discuss his other league too that he began writing about, and that is a whole other story.  So here are the first three weeks' worth of posts all at once, because my son began writing before the idea of blogging it took off.  He will continue to post about his other league weekly, and we will discuss the league we are both in, fantasy sports, and anything else that comes up.  Enjoy.
